When You (or someone you know) is Dying
**NEW** 4 Hour Info Session
Service Description
Death has largely been handled by funeral homes, hospitals and care facilities for up to a century. Unless a person/family has experienced the death of a loved one up close, there isn’t an opportunity to know what to expect or how to navigate the dying process. Many times, families and loved ones only discover in hindsight what might have been done to better accommodate the needs of the dying person. What we often hear from our clients is, “if only we knew….” Our aging population is considering its options for dying and death and many are choosing to die at home. This places greater responsibility on loved ones who become caregivers. At this half day session, we’ll discuss predictable and non-predictable circumstances around different situations relating to the myriad of ways people die. We will talk about how to maximize resources and how to avoid become overwhelmed by caregiving. We will also review what to expect when a loved one is in the active dying phase and how family and friends can be present in a way that doesn’t hinder the dying process. Dying and death are much less complicated when people know how to make this life transition less burdensome. Come out! Gather information and join the conversation.
